Hearing loss? wax? HELP?

:) asked:

I’ve been listening to music to around…20-40% for three years. I never listened to music alot until I got an ipod.

But I don’t listen to it loud, only when I’m in the car. I can’t stand loud music when I’m laying down, so it;s around 20-30%. But Uh, one day I realized my left ear has been hurting, it’s clogged and achy.

Weird thing is, I don’t know if it’s wax because when I put my finger in my ear, it’s VERY slimy and waxy. But it’s been going on for about three months so I’m lost.

Another weird thing is that it varies. One minute my left ear is clogged, the next it’s my right ear but it’s usually my left ear. I’m SO confused!

My left ears rings RARELY. It’s not constant but it rings about…once a week, sometimes not even that.

I clog my nose and blow lightly but only the right ear pops, and it feels like the right one is trying to, it somewhat pops but not alot.
Wax buildup? Hearing loss? Infection? Any ideas??

Dodgy ear ‘fullness’/hearing loss?

DarkFlame asked:

Hey,
I’m a little worried about my hearing in my right ear. I just got an iPod and I’ve been listening to music a bit too loud, for about an hour tops. At the end of listening to the music, my ears have hurt slightly and also had a ringing effect, but I thought nothing of it.
Here’s what’s wrong, my right ear feels blocked, muffled or ‘full’ if you will. It feels like pressure.. as if it needs to pop, but I’ve tried (blocking noise + blowing) but it doesn’t seem to work. There is some slight pain in the ear, though not too harsh. I think I suffer from TMJ (jaw thing) so I think that may be connected… however, I have had a few colds on and off, and whenever I get a cold my ears always go deaf, temporarily. I got a cold a few days ago and my noise was blocked… I just don’t know what it is…
I’m hoping its temporary.. a friend at school went deaf in his left ear permanently from a rugby accident… the thing is, the hearing loss is very minor, it just feels ‘bunged up’. Should I go to a doctor? I’ve tried putting my head under the water in the bath, and that fixed it for a few seconds (10-20) and ‘adjusting’ my ear (pushing the door thing to the ear) which fixes it… the hearing them returns.. it’s weird… it’s like someones pressing on it or something expanded inside.. help??

Still have intermittent hearing loss and loud tinnitus, pressure in head?

yanksgirl asked:

I’ve seen my ENT doctor, have finished 2 weeks of Valtrex and Prednisone for what is diagnosed as viral caused hearing loss. I had an MRI of the head and it was ok. For a week now, my head feels such pressure (just in the upper portion), and the hearing comes and goes in one ear. When it goes, my tinnitus (which I have all the time), is much better, but is replaced by a ‘windy type roar’ sound. When the hearing comes back, the tinnitus is awful and the pressure feeling in the head is worse—like today. I feel sort of dizzy but not the spinning sensation. If I bend over and/or get up from a lying down position, the dizziness is more so. It is ‘nerve wracking’ to say the least. I keep hoping this will correct itself. I have a follow up appt. next week. I got nauseated awhile today too. I just **** the thought of more tests. I’m a senior /female and in otherwise good health. Just wonder what on earth is going on? Any thoughts? thanks

Hearing loss and getting into ROTC. Is it possible?

Christopher asked:

Hello, last December, I was sent home from basic training at Ft. Benning, Ga for hearing loss in one ear. I would very much like to, and very passionately want to serve for my country as those have done before me. My question has to do with the ROTC program and whether I can even enroll in ROTC so that I may live my life how I want to as a soldier and guardian of peace and freedom for the citizens of the United States. Any help on the matter would be very appreciated.
