Hearing loss in teens?

Asphixiation asked:

I have a ? my son says he starting not to be able to hear properly in his left ear. He listens to music everyday some loud and some with headphones. He cleans his ears weekly. But he has to constantly adjust his pc speakers balance. But he also gets the surround sound in our living room and others. And i was wondering if there were any studies in teens with hearing loss. Or if he just needs to slow it down everyday. Hes only 15
Well he cleans his ears weekly with q tips. And he always brings home the colds from school. But i was just concerned cause i didn’t believe him

suffering from hearing loss?

Jeff asked:

One day i was filling up a bicycle tire and i saw the inner tube start to come out of this whole the tire had. I thought i was hearing a leak so i put my ear right next to it and it popped literally on my ear. This happened about 5-6 years ago. Is there any type of surgery or treatment for this sudden type of hearing loss?

can ear surgery reclaim some of the hearing loss resulting from osteogenesis imperfecta?

anon asked:

i hav osteogenesis imperfecta. as a result, i started having hearing loss at around 25 years. now, some drs. recommend ear surgery which can reclaim some of the loss, they say. they are all ENTs. they speak from their point of view.

can someone with experience in orthopaedics advice from their point of view if surgery wud prove beneficial?

also, is it possible that the surgery may break the soft bones of the ear since they are so soft, or the bones cant hold the artificial bone that wud be inserted?

please advice

temporary hearing loss improvement?

RaphaelDeLaGhetto asked:

a couple of days ago I was exposed to a really loud sound and my hearing in my left and right ear was muffled.

my left ears fine now and I can’t feel the difference in my right ear anymore but it still sounds kind of muffled. just today when I woke up I heard a ringing sound in my right ear, does this show signs of improvement for the temporary hearing loss or is it getting worse and possible permanent?
